Therapeutic massage is the manipulation of the soft tissue structures of the body to prevent or alleviate pain, muscle spasm, stress and to promote health and wellness.

 

Relaxation Massage

Relaxation massage includes smooth, gliding strokes that are rhythmic and flowing.  The treatment uses pressure designed to soothe and relax.

Manual Lymphatic Drainage (lymphatic massage) 

Manual Lymphatic Drainage is a gentle, non-invasive technique to help decrease edema/fluid congestion due to acute and chronic conditions.  This modality uses a light, repetitive skin stretching movement to help move lymphatic fluid from the affected area back to the appropriate lymph node groups for filtration and decongestion of the tissues.   Manual lymphatic drainage technique is a method to safely treat:  orthopedic edema, venous insufficiency edema stage 1, whole-body tissue detoxification, symptoms of lupus, arthritis, RA, osteoarthritis, Lyme disease, chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia, lymphatic facial detoxification, and swelling due to surgical procedures and trauma and much more.

 

Pregnancy Massage

Pregnancy massage  is the massage of pregnant women prenatally and after giving birth (postpartum).  Pregnancy massage addresses the special needs of pregnant women such as discomfort in the low back, hips, feet and legs.

 

Reflexology

Reflexology is a form of bodywork based on the theory of zone therapy, in which specific areas of the body are pressed on the hands or feet to stimulate corresponding areas in other parts of the body.  Foot reflexology , in which pressure techniques are applied only to the feet, is the most common form of reflexology.

 

Aroma Acupoint Therapy

Aroma Acupoint Therapy is a gentle, safe and profoundly effective treatment modality that utilizes the energetic potential of pure essential oils paired with acupressure points.  Treatment involves placing particular oils on specific acupoints or reflex zones on the body to trigger energetic changes that assist in helping a state of balance to occur.  Aroma Acupoint Therapy works on the basis of mutual resonance through the systematic and intentional combination of essential oils and acupoints, resulting in a more significant effect than using either of the treatment methods alone.

Cupping Massage

Cupping massage is a technique that uses small glass cups to apply gentle negative pressure to the skin causing the superficial muscle layer to be lightly drawn upward into the cup.  This method assists in loosening tight muscles, encouraging blood flow to the affected area and sedates the nervous system. Athough only the superficial muscle layer is drawn upward into the cup, cupping impacts the deep tissue layer as well and is an excellent modality to address deep tissue discomfort and increase range of motion in affected areas. 

 

Thai Yoga Massage

Thai massage is an ancient bodywork system designed to unblock trapped energy and improve vitality by applying pressure along energy pathways.  Thai massage uses slow, often meditative, rhythmic pressure and yoga-like stretches together with gentle rocking motions.​

Trigger Point Massage

Trigger point massage utilizes ischemic compression of individual areas of hypersensitivity in muscles, ligaments, tendons and fascia.  Trigger points are defined by their referral of pain to distant locations in muscles, connective tissue and organs.
